Of Land and Local

“Of Land and Local” is a project initiated by the Burlington City Arts, with the idea to explore the relationship between a farmer and the land. It brought together more than 60 artists from around Vermont to explore this theme through various media. I focus on former refugees that farm half of the year through New Farms For New Americans initiative: a gardening and agricultural program created to provide refugees and immigrants with the experience and resources needed to produce their own food and food for others. This series of photographs was commissioned by the Burlington City Arts(BCA)
